Beautiful viewpoint over hills and lakes surrounding Silkeborg, especially beautiful in the autumn colours. There is a bench to enjoy the view fully. The trail is good for running if you like running up and down and don't mind a few steps here and there (they are good for running too).

You can spend the whole day here. Bathing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, and of course, mountain biking :-)

The parking lot was relatively full, as there's so much to do at this hotspot. A swimming lake, a barbecue hut with restrooms, and a shower house. The mountain bike trail, and so on... Parking is permitted on the shoulder of the main road in both directions, which was very convenient for us with our Sprinter van.

A very nice trail. It's 17 km long and really makes the most of the few meters of elevation gain.

Østre Søbad at Almindsø near Silkeborg is one of Denmark's cleanest lakes. Here are two round, impressive bathing jetties right next to each other with a children's pool and facilities such as changing rooms, lovely benches, toilets and a sauna.

The Gudenå River in Jutland is the longest river in Denmark. Here, you can follow part of its course and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

From the 73-meter-high hill, you have a wonderful view of Lake Brassø and the forest area around Silkeborg. The hill has had its current name since 1852, when King Frederik VII and his wife Louise visited the city of Silkeborg and the hill with the wonderful view. The two of them seem to have liked it up here, after all, the hill has borne the countess's name ever since.

Dronningestolen is a 65 meter high point in the north-west corner of the Nordskoven near Silkeborg.
