If you want to enjoy the view in peace and quiet before you reach the tourist hotspot, this lovely picnic spot is ideal!

The Harder Kulm, Interlaken's "local mountain", offers you an incredible view of the surrounding lakes as well as the impressive Bernese Alps. This viewpoint on the western part of the Harder can be easily reached either by funicular or by hiking. As soon as you get to the top, a fascinating panorama awaits you. The funicular takes you from Interlaken to the Harder Kulm in just 10 minutes and you can visit the Two Lakes Bridge. From there you have a great view of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz as well as the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

The Augstmatthorn is an impressive mountain in the Bernese Oberland, known for its breathtaking views and rich wildlife. At 2,137 meters high, the summit offers spectacular views of Lake Brienz, the surrounding Alps and, in clear weather, even as far as the Jura. The hike to the Augstmatthorn often starts in Habkern or Lombachalp and leads along well-marked paths through a varied landscape. The trail is challenging and requires surefootedness, especially on steep and rocky terrain. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with wide panoramic views and the opportunity to spot ibexes and other alpine animals.
