Beautiful view of Ediger with the St. Martin Parish Church. It's worth a look inside.

We almost walked past it. A forest path leads from the castle ruins toward Cochem. If you chatter too much, you might not notice the sign that suddenly leads left into the forest onto the right-hand path. 😉 Another beautiful section of the hike 🥾🌲

St. Martin's Church, Ediger-Eller The branch chapel of the Eller parish church, dedicated to St. Hilarius's pupil "Martin of Tours," became the parish church of "St. Martin" of Ediger in 1142. Romanesque remains and Gothic completion (around 1506) present themselves in the beauty visible today. A picturesque gallery connects the choir side with the church gate of the city wall, built in 1363. To the west rises the over 50 m high bell tower, an outstanding example of late Gothic design. The octagonal spire is the most richly decorated Gothic slate church spire in Christendom. Unfortunately still closed in March 2025; but the view from the outside is still worth it.

Beautiful half-timbered houses, some of which are several hundred years old, and narrow streets. Really romantic and beautifully lit. Worth a visit at any time of year!

🥾🥾⛰️The Calmont is a steep vineyard with a 65 degree incline↗️ & a height of 378 meters↕️. The Calmont via ferrata🥾🥾🪜 leads through the vineyard, impassable rocky sections are overcome with climbing aids. The hike on the Calmont high trail with the Calmont summit cross and “Vierseenblick” offers fantastic views🎨🖌. Difficult passages are equipped with rock steps, rope safety devices, steel ladders, iron brackets and footholds. 🧭The Calmont region is located on the Terraced Moselle, just under 20 kilometers from Cochem. Thanks to the German Alpine Association and many volunteers from the surrounding communities of Bremm, Ediger-Eller and Neef. Because they all made sure that the mountain was accessible in the first place🥾🥾🎒.

Last look at Winneburg, simply beautiful.
