The Dellwiger Bachtal nature reserve is located in the western part of Dortmund, in the Lütgendortmund district. It covers an area of approximately 112 hectares and was legally protected in 1996. This area offers many small paths to explore, leading through dense mixed forest and small streams.

Super beautiful forest area! It's worth stopping there more often.

The Landwehr Colony is a mining settlement belonging to the Zollern Colliery in the Dortmund district of Bövinghausen. The Zollern Colliery was established as a model colliery for the Gelsenkirchen Mining Company.

It's a nice place to take a walk and watch people living there.

Everything you could wish for can be found here. A slag heap with a few trails, a stream and a pond and lots of greenery.

The first building was a two-family house for foremen on Grubenweg, which leads to the factory gate, in 1898. In 1900, the director's villa for the plant manager was built on Rhader Weg. By 1904, more apartment buildings had been built on these two streets, making a total of eight civil servants' houses with 29 apartments. The individual design was elaborate; curved gables, bay windows and decorative half-timbering. This part of the settlement was planned and built by Paul Knobbe, the architect of GBAG, and by machine inspector Wenzel Köller.

I have never seen such a well-maintained and thoroughly renovated mining settlement anywhere
