The Holzhausen Roman Fort is an impressive example of Roman military architecture on the Upper Germanic Limes—now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is idyllically situated in the forest near Holzhausen an der Haide in the Rhein-Lahn district and is one of the best-preserved Limes forts in Germany.

This is where the Wisper River rises. The Wiper Valley winds its wild, romantic way to Lorch, where it flows into the Rhine. A very beautiful route, also for cyclists. But only during the week. Motorcyclists flood the route on weekends ;-)

Drive a little carefully ☝🏼🙏🏼! A cyclist coming downhill made me sick because he was going too fast, was carried off the bend and slammed into me!
