The lake is located within the 'NSG Poratzer Moränenlandschaft' nature reserve. Swimming and overnight stays are therefore not permitted.

The chapel belongs to the Holy Spirit Hospital, founded around 1336, which was located directly outside Angermünde's former city walls and was completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. In 1698, the chapel was transferred to the French Reformed congregation of Angermünde, subsequently repaired, and a half-timbered tower was added. This was rebuilt in 1775. Regular cultural events take place, including the popular "Chorin Music Summer," special and art exhibitions, and guided tours. A permanent exhibition, opened in April 2017, provides information about the life and work of the monks, as well as historical discovery and monument preservation efforts. A free app called "Chorin Monastery 3D - At the Time of the Cistercians" allows for a digital exploration of the complex.

Not only the view from the upper terrace overlooking the lake is worth seeing, but also the interior, which features, among other things, beautiful murals. Furthermore, fishing is depicted using various fishing implements.

A very beautiful former mill. The sails have been missing for some time. The building was recently renovated and converted into a residential building. It is privately owned and therefore not open to the public.

And the further you go in, the deeper you sink into the mud. Unfortunately, there's no swimming here.
