Up until that day I had no idea how many lovely, welcoming little towns there are on the way from Geneva to Lausanne. The paths are all easily accessible.

Nyon is a pretty town in the canton of Vaud, located on the shores of Lake Geneva. It is famous for being the starting point of the GR 5 which runs to the Netherlands.

There are a number of small footbridges crossing the Le Boiron river, which offer beautiful views of the creek. Rustic hiking trails lead along the stream.

Bossey Castle is home to the Bossey Ecumenical Institute (Institut oecuménique de Bossey), a training facility of the Church's Ecumenical Council. Here students from all over the world live and learn together. The institute offers clergy and laypeople the opportunity to take courses in ecumenical theology, missiology and social ethics.

Beautiful town center of the Geneva exclave of Céligny. The village's two chateaus, Domaine de Garengo and Domaine de l'Elysée, are unfortunately not open to the public.
