Wonderful cafe perched right over the edge of the lake - feels like being in a rowboat right on the lake! Enjoying a generous baked potato and chilli con carne marks a great end to a wonderful hike.

multiple well kept trails around the woodlands , but don't go cycling around the reservoir as I found out there is no cycling, even though there are no signs , i got abuse from aggressive walkers about it.

Whatever you do is don't cycle around the reservoir, got told off and abusively shouted at.

Enjoy a pretty stroll through the woodland surrounding Llanishen Reservoir. Well-maintained dirt paths will lead you around the forest where there is a rope swing and stream to discover, a little something for the kids to enjoy too.

Roath Park is one of Cardiff's most loved parks, it was recently awarded the prestigious Green Flag award to recognise its high quality and its importance to Cardiff. In the centre of the park sits the wonderful Roath Lake, a peaceful place to walk around with sights of ducks, birds, and an impressive lighthouse stood in the water. There is a lovely little café and plenty of places to picnic, so take a seat and enjoy the view.

Caerphilly is surrounded by lots of rolling hills and countryside. You can enjoy great views on a bike ride or hike nearby to the town. Nearer to the centre, Caerphilly Castle is worth visiting.

Good route across up over the fields that then crosses the road. More gravel / mtb than touring bike.
