Near the abbey church is the old salt house, the Maison du Sel, another building worth seeing in Wissembourg. The multi-storey, slanted roof is interesting. It was built in the 15th century and first served as a hospital, later as a salt store and during the war as a military hospital. It's a shame that it can't be visited.
