A wonderful resting place between fruit trees that invites you to take a long break.

There have been written records of buzzing holes, also known as "headache holes", since the 17th century. These are approx. 50-60cm deep holes that were hewn into a rock face. The buzzing holes are used for healing purposes, to relieve muscle and nerve cramps. This happens through the vibration that occurs when you put your head in one of the holes, start to hum and try to tune the hum so that it turns into an inner and outer roar, which is felt as a beneficial vibration for the body. Plastic caps are used for this purpose in today's medicine.

Densely packed trees, deep hollows with visible tree roots along the edges, and a buzzing natural world all around you: whenever I'm out and about on the Stemweder Berg, I feel like the world is still alright. There are fantastic forest trails here, and hiking is simply a joy.

Put your head in one of the holes and hum a low hum. You will actually feel the vibrations in your body. A great experience 🙂

There is absolutely nothing special at this point. Why this should be a highlight is not clear to me. And with the family you can also go somewhere else in Stemweder Berg, it's at least as nice there.
