The centerpiece of the complex is the Doberan Minster, a High Gothic brick church from the 13th century, considered a "pearl of North German Brick Gothic." In addition to the minster, other historic buildings have been preserved, including the ossuary (c. 1250), the granary, the ruins of the outbuildings, and the wool barn. The almost completely preserved monastery wall, 1.4 kilometers long, dates back to 1291 and is the longest of its kind in Germany.

Very nice bike path: good asphalt and a wonderful view of the Salzhaff waters. Pay attention to the wind direction!

Hello Mikem and Marcus, I agree with you both, it is a beautiful avenue. There is a cycle path on either side of the road. Unfortunately, it is very busy in summer. If you don't mind overgrown paths, on the way back from Heiligendamm to Bad Doberean, just stay on the left side of the road. It is now just a dirt path, but in my opinion that is all the more beautiful.
