A pretty and quiet route. The road climbs uphill after San Miguel.

San Miguel de Salinas is a charming village of 7,000 inhabitants in the south of the province of Alicante, situated between the city of Torrevieja and the province of Murcia. Located on a hill 75 meters above sea level, this picturesque village enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding vegetation, lemon and orange groves, and the large salt lakes of Torrevieja and La Mata.

The route around the reservoir is very pleasant to drive, making up for the journey from the town.

A manageable route from Alicante to the La Pedrera reservoir. You don't need to be in great shape, just able to handle the effort of covering the kilometers.

I've done this route from San Miguel to the Guardamar antenna on many occasions, and it's really peaceful. Overall, it's fine for road biking, although there are some stretches where the road surface isn't in perfect condition, but it's still passable without any problem. Be careful if it's been raining.
