In Alfarnate, La Venta de Alfarnate dates back to the 13th century, and is considered the oldest in Andalusia. The Museo de la Miel in Colmenar is a fascinating museum dedicated to the world of bees and honey production. It is located at Calle Pósito 1, Colmenar, Málaga, 29170. The museum offers a comprehensive look at the history and process of beekeeping, with a large collection of tools and equipment used throughout history for beekeeping and honey extraction.

Colmenar is a picturesque typical Spanish village. As one of the typical villages with whitewashed houses, it stands out because of its strategic location, bordering the Montes de Málaga nature park. This is a protected nature reserve that is home to various species of mammals, birds and plants. Impressive rivers, trees and fauna make this area definitely worth a walk. The new suspension bridge is the highlight of this hike. You should not be afraid of heights, but the bridge is very stable and sways very little. But the path there from Canillas de Aceituno is also just beautiful and relatively flat.
