The covered market A concentrate of local culture awaits you on "Rue du marché"! With its beautiful 1930s building typical of the Charente style, the covered market is at the heart of life in Châtelaillon. Under its glass roof, you will find everything you need to treat yourself to a 100% Charente meal: cheesemaker, butcher, fishmonger or caterer, the 17 traders are proud to offer you their local products ... and guaranteed quality! The days and opening hours of the covered market are: • From April to September: every day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. • From October to March: Tuesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the morning, the rue du marché is teeming with life. We cross paths, chat and head to our favorite stands before joining friends on a café terrace. The good life! The outdoor market The Châtelaillon-Plage fairground market is made up of more than 80 traders gathered out of season and up to 180 in high season, along the Boulevard de Lattre de Tassigny, de la Libération and rue du marché. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, they are waiting for you to help you discover their local specialties. From caterers to fruit sellers and sweet treats, stroll through the lively Rue du marché and make your choice among the treasures of Charente gastronomy. When summer comes, the outdoor market expands to welcome street vendors, jewelry designers and artisans... Opening days and times of the fairground market: every Tuesday and Friday, all year round from 8am to 1pm The night market Handcrafted creations to please you, exhibited by around forty exhibitors, are set up opposite the Fête Foraine, from Rue Brissaud to the Post Office. Original jewelry, trendy bags, handcrafted decorative objects... whether to treat yourself or to offer, or simply to stroll before or after dinner, the craft night market is the Sunday evening meeting place in Châtelaillon-Plage. Located on Place Jean Moulin, in the very heart of the seaside resort, the funfair is an institution here. From the beginning of July to the end of August, every day, from 3pm to midnight, it has been distilling its childhood scent for over 100 years: on the agenda, rides for the little ones, rifle shooting, slot machines, bumper cars, games of skill, duck fishing and of course cotton candy, chichis and other summer treats..., a little paradise for young and old to share with the family. In July and August, the funfair offers entertainment every day from 3pm to midnight. And just before the start of the funfair period, so at the end of June, for more than 20 years, Châtel en Fête has offered holidaymakers a grandiose spectacle where nothing is left to chance and everything is perfectly measured, thanks to the unifying spirit of its inhabitants who have built the sets themselves, rehearsed each choreography and created the costumes and make-up. A dream opportunity to escape for a weekend and discover the hidden treasures of this great Châtelaillon family without even leaving the beach! And what's more, every Sunday, the Châtelaillon night market completes the festival on Boulevard de la République. Bringing back a melon in your suitcases? We advise you not to! Not recognizable from the outside, this church is all the more surprising from the inside! The modern frescoes match the original windows very well in terms of color and theme. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. The church, along with the train station, market hall and railway, was one of the first investments in the 19th century to make this place attractive for seaside tourism.
