Angoulins-sur-Mer is a small coastal village located about ten kilometers south of La Rochelle. It benefits from pretty beaches and a bay well protected by the Chay point. I came to this place to spend the night in a campsite. As a healthy route to walk and have a first contact with the place it is fine. Quiet beaches (at least when I came) that allow you to be on the shore lost in your thoughts and disconnect.

In February 1787, Marie Louise Henriette married a young officer, Étienne-Pierre de Montbron: the current owners of this castle are their direct descendants.

This cape was used as a defensive position with cannons located there in the 1620s and also takes its name from the convent that was located there. A nice place to enjoy the view.
