Very beautiful village and a wonderful setting with the mountains surrounding it.

The Vallée du Jabron meanders through the heart of the western foothills of the French Alps, tightly embraced by mountains to the north and south. The Petit Train du Picodon once ran through the countryside from 1893 to 1936, a train that exuded more romance than speed at just under 15 km/h. The valley, which is very narrow between La Bégude-de-Mazenc and Le Poët-Laval, widens out here in both directions. Part 8 of the Petit Train du Picodon bike tour.

Beautiful view, freely accessible, good footwear strongly recommended. Rough trails with large stones. According to a local historian, the walls above the spacious grotto are the remains of an outpost of the nearby Village fortifié Poët-Laval with its mighty keep. Poët-Laval was built in the 12th century by the Ordre des Hospitaliers de St Jean de Jérusalem.

Very beautiful and quiet village with a very cozy and authentic atmosphere 'petite epicerie'. Recommended

The starting point is a campsite that you cannot pass through. The route is closed with a gate. Walked the other way. Very beautiful, quite spicy and stony here and there. At the end again at the campsite gate. We went illegally through a gate and via the campsite to the parking lot.
