Kampen is by far the most snobbish place on the island. While the houses are mostly thatched and built in the Frisian style, they are mostly not old. Much of Kampen has a "slicked-down" feel and therefore lacks a sense of authenticity. From Kampen, it's just a stone's throw to the "Red Cliff," a must-see.
