An old Norman half-timbered house by the harbor. The front view is inaccessible or difficult to access due to construction workers on the street. However, the inner courtyard is also well preserved and bears witness to the carpentry skills of our ancestors.

Also pay attention to the weather on the day of the outing and the previous days because some sections can become very muddy + some passages in the vegetation can transform, with growth, into slightly narrower and difficult to use spaces (mainly coastal paths). The erosion of the cliff seems to be accelerating in some parts and could make access to certain areas of the coastal paths more complex or even cut off in the (fairly) near future. Allow a good seven hours (minimum) in total with a few short breaks.

It's nice to cycle through the village and look at the different houses.

Small streams, watermills and beautiful gardens make this town a romantic gem.

As Austrian cyclists, we were particularly surprised to discover that Empress Elisabeth also enjoyed the fresh air of Normandy here in 1875! We can well understand this when we look at the castle and the beautiful landscape!

The smallest coastal river in France

The Château d'Auberville is a 16th century fortified residence, surrounded by vast outbuildings and equipped with a round tower, a polygonal tower and a richly sculpted door. You can run along the walls and admire the architecture and history of this place, property of the Toustain family, damaged during the Hundred Years War. The castle is not open to the public, but you can enjoy the view from the outside and imagine life in this ancient residence.
