The fountain serves as a meeting point for hikers and cyclists who want to refresh themselves and refill their water bottles. It is located directly in front of Schwarzwald-Sprudel's headquarters and is the starting point of the Panoramawegle, a four-kilometer premium walking trail that explains how rainwater is transformed into mineral water.

There are currently four premium hiking trails: Teuelskanzelsteig, Himmelssteig, Wiesensteig and the Schwarzwaldsteig, all of which are recommended.
