A beautiful castle

The castle of Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte is a castle dating from the 11th century. Ransacked twice during the Hundred Years' War, it is today in ruins. Although not as impressive as some still intact castles, this castle is open to the public and very accessible. It's a beautiful place to visit.

Municipality with around 820 inhabitants at the confluence of the Douve and Gloire.

The Château de Pont-Rilly was designed in 1765 by the architect Pierre-Raphaël de Lozon for the Marquis d'Ourville. In 1774, renovations allowed the construction of a chapel, a pavilion, stables, barns, a mill and a bakery.

The small hamlet of Cul-de-Fer is located on the course of Merderet, thus offering beautiful fresh perspectives.
