The freestanding bell tower in Hohenzieritz belongs to the castle church (also known as a neoclassical round church) and is a listed historical monument. The bell dates from 1588, making it one of the oldest surviving bells in the Mecklenburg-Strelitz region. The Hohenzieritz Village Church, also known as the Castle Chapel, is located in the district of the same name in the municipality of Blankensee. It was built in 1806 in the Neoclassical style according to designs by the master builder Friedrich Wilhelm Dunckelberg. The church is characterized by its circular central brick structure, a simple Doric portal, and a surrounding gallery inside. The dome was originally painted with coffered panels; today it is white. The church was re-consecrated in 1991 after renovation and is now an outstanding example of Neoclassical architecture in the region.
