stunning views, very quiet and peaceful walk. would recommend good shoes especially for the downhill spell.

you can occasionally go up to the top of Ashton memorial which has great views! even if you can't the steps have good views too. and lots of nice nature (little pools of water) and little huts and structures to rest by!

Don't forget that it's always windy on top.

Excellent food. Not open too late though so get there early to avoid disappointment

Found on a lovely spot through the Japanese Gardens, via Rivington Pike, up to Winter Hill mast and this Trig point. The pillar is in good condition and set in a wonderful position.

Amazing reservoir and amazing to see the reflection of the trees and hills in the water on a quiet day.

Wolfhole Crag (527m) will always be quieter than Clougha Pike and Ward's Stone on its western ridge, but equally amazing for views over the Forest of Bowland AONB and the North Pennines. The crag offers a dramatic and picturesque backdrop for those exploring the region.

The beach is renowned for its stunning natural beauty. It offers panoramic views of Morecambe Bay and the surrounding countryside. The bay is known for its expansive mudflats and ever-changing tidal patterns, making it a unique and picturesque location.

It is widely speculated that the chimney represents the remnants of an illegal copper mining and smelting endeavour established by Robert Gibson during the 1780s. There is also some uncertainty over who Jenny Brown was, though possibly the best tale is that she was a lover who would wait at the point for her lost sailor to return.

The Wyre Way is a long-distance walking trail that roughly follows the course of the River Wyre from its source on White Moor near Tarnbrook down to the sea at Fleetwood. The whole trail is 72km but most people break it up into 4 sections. The Tarnbrook loop is the upper section and follows the Wyre from its source to Abbeystead Reservoir.

The Wyre Way is a 45 mile (72 km) waymarked trail that runs from Fleetwood to Abbeystead following the River Wyre. This section follows the river on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. It's a nice trail along the riverside and across the moorland.

Pendle Hill looms over East Lancashire between the towns of Clitheroe and Nelson.  With its distinctive humpback shape, visible for miles around from all directions, it is a local landmark, rising from an area of green beauty.  The district is dotted with tiny hamlets and farms, divided by ancient drystone walls and full of folklore and stories – not least the famous tale of the Pendle Witches.  Geographically, Pendle Hill is part of the Pennine Chain of hills that run north-south through the northern half of England.  It is included in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, though Pendle is a discrete hill, separated from the main upland area of Bowland by the Ribble Valley.
