    Nel 1660 Jonas von Kirchbach viene menzionato per la prima volta come signore ereditario e amministratore elettorale. Suo figlio Hans Gustav iniziò a costruire il castello di Lauterbach, situato in posizione idilliaca sulla riva di un lago, intorno al 1700. Nel 1865 il castello fu ammodernato e ricevette il secondo piano e la facciata in stile rococò che si conserva ancora oggi.
