    La cappella fu costruita nel 1946 su iniziativa di Pol De Colage come gesto di gratitudine e per proteggere ulteriormente il quartiere dalle inondazioni. L'architetto Leon Van Hove di Hamme ha progettato il progetto e Gustaaf Van Haute di Moerzeke ha eseguito i lavori. I lavori iniziarono il 15 maggio 1946 e la cappella fu inaugurata il 23 giugno 1946.
