    Vicino a ruscelli e fiumi – a pochi passi (proprio dietro la statua) convergono i due fiumi dell'Eifel, l'Urft e l'Olef – egli è di gran lunga il santo più importante: San Giovanni Nepomuceno (c. 1345-1393), vestito con l'abito sacerdotale del suo tempo (fu vicario generale dell'arcivescovo di Praga) e con una croce in mano, è popolarmente considerato un "santo ponte". Inoltre, cosa che forse non molti sanno, è il santo patrono del sigillo della confessione e per questo motivo a volte viene raffigurato con un dito sulle labbra, il tipico gesto del silenzio.

    La statua barocca del ponte San Giovanni Nepomuceno, realizzata intorno al 1730 e realizzata in arenaria rossa sulla base delle figure del ponte di Praga, su una base del 1738 con lo stemma Harff/Hoheneck, ha segnato il punto in cui confluiscono Olef e Urft dal 1859/60. Fonte: Wikipedia
