    Il castello di Belvoir si trova in cima a una collina che domina la valle di Belvoir, dominando la vista del North Leicestershire per molte miglia.

    La casa è stata la dimora ancestrale dei Duchi di Rutland con la famiglia che vive a Belvoir da quasi mille anni. La terra fu un dono di Guglielmo il Conquistatore a uno dei suoi baroni normali che combatté per lui nella battaglia di Hastings 1066. La casa e i giardini possono essere visitati con un caffè per fare una pausa.

    Nel film "The Little Lord" l'edificio rappresentava il castello della famiglia Dorincourt.
    Nel film Il codice da Vinci, il castello di Belvoir era la residenza estiva di papa Castel Gandolfo e il castello è stato anche utilizzato come sfondo per Il castello dei fantasmi.
