Il gioco delle bocce era già praticato nel XVII secolo sui passaggi che attraversavano i giardini. I vialetti del giardino erano molto apprezzati dalla clientela britannica che chiamava questo luogo di ritrovo il “Green” e il “Bowling Green” divenne i Boulingrins.
I giardini subirono molti cambiamenti. L'ultimo è stato completato nel 1989, dopo la realizzazione di un parcheggio sotterraneo scavato nella roccia e coperto da una soletta in cemento. Su quest'ultimo sono stati realizzati gli attuali giardini per consentire una piacevole passeggiata tra getti d'acqua e fiori.
