    Nel 1420 l'abbazia cistercense di Mariënrode acquistò un terreno per costruire un mulino ad acqua sul fiume Velpe. Il grande e pittoresco mulino fu finalmente costruito tra la fine del XVII e l'inizio del XVIII secolo. La ruota cattura l'acqua dal basso ed è quindi una ruota rivolta verso il basso. I documenti dimostrano che nel 1920 il mulino macinò 75.000 kg di grano. È stato operativo fino al 1961, ma ha ancora tutti i diritti per riprendere a macinare. Il mulino è di proprietà della famiglia Van den Hove-d'Ertsenrijck da quasi 200 anni.
