    Come ultimo grande residuo del complesso del castello di Stein, di quasi 700 anni, che si trovava su un piccolo sperone roccioso nascosto nella valle di Ölschnitz, solo il palazzo o l'edificio principale sopravvissero ai secoli a volte tempestosi e vegliano ancora sull'idilliaca valle oggi. Oggi ospita la cappella di San Michele.
