    La chiesa di Dobraschütz è stata menzionata per la prima volta in relazione alla fondazione del convento francescano di Altenburg nel 1290. Già allora a Dobraschütz esisteva una cappella che apparteneva alla parrocchia di Mehna. Un rapporto di visita del periodo della Riforma del 1528 diceva quindi: "Il pastore Mehna ha un ramo chiamato Dobersitz con i villaggi associati di Cosse (Oberkossa) e Neundorf (Naundorf)." Intorno al 1607 il cronista e pastore Johann Tauchwitz riferì di Monstab da un piccola e sgangherata cappella su una collina al centro del paese.

    La chiesa fu costruita nel 1751/52 sul sito di un edificio precedente come sala rettangolare intonacata, con una torre e una lanterna rivestite di tegole e ardesia.

    Una caratteristica speciale è il suo interno quasi completamente conservato e la ricca e coerente pittura in blu barocco contadino. Degni di nota sono quattro epitaffi e 13 corone funebri risalenti al periodo tra il 1791 e il 1811.

    Zacharias Kresse (1800-1876), nativo del villaggio, divenne un importante poeta locale.
