    Intorno al 1212/1220 Obereschenbach (dal 1917 Wolframs-Eschenbach) fu donato all'Ordine Teutonico dai Conti di Wertheim. Da questo momento, l'Ordine Teutonico ha svolto un ruolo significativo nella storia di Eschenbach. Ha governato la città per oltre 600 anni.
