Stå op kort efter kl. 4.30 og tag afsted mod nord i vandretøj kl. 5. Lyder det skørt? Det er skørt.
Men også på en måde fedt.
Ud i naturen, og man kan virkelig gå meget gennem skove, selvom det går lige gennem Rhein-Main-området..
Resultat: 5 rådyr, 2 harer, 1 egern..

Efter at søndagen også var ret godt fyldt med moderering af "Fællesdagen for Fællesforbundet Rhein-Main" og "EC West", gik det endnu engang ud i 20 graders varme. Dejligt, efter at have tilbragt dagen siden ca. kl. 9 i Kulturhalle i Pfungstadt. Et rådyr spottet og en stork (naturligvis ikke i hallen...)

Walking through a dune in a bit of wind has its own special charm :) A beautiful tour, partly on hiking trails and partly on komoot routes that lead right through the deep sand. Nice!

A sweltering hike to a water system that's still partially functioning!
The highlight comes at the turnaround point: a refreshing waterfall at the end of the valley, practically inviting you to take a cool shower.

What a trip! If you're ever in the Azores, you can hardly miss Pico. It's the highest mountain for miles around and, at 2351m, the highest mountain in Portugal. As an Alpine type, you think: well, 2351m - that's fine. And it's "only" about 1100m from the Pico Mountain House.
Then reality sets in:

A beautiful highlight of the island of Faial: a hike along the crater rim...! Upon arrival, you walk through a small tunnel and then see such lush green...
The crater has a diameter of 2km (500m at the bottom) and a depth of 400m. It's hard to grasp the dimensions, because you're not used to such dimensions

A lovely hike/walk to see not only the village of Horta, but also the unique landscapes created by volcanoes. A great spot for geography and geometry lovers! It's already a highlight on Google Maps—and in real life, too.

Hamburg at its best! Pure sunshine, and after a short run in Blankenese and its picturesque staircase district, we rode rented city bikes along the Elbe to the Landungsbrücken (landing stage). A very relaxing tour with such beautiful views of the Elbe, the shipping, the harbor, and so on.

Walk through the rainforest to the Barron Falls Lookout. Since we didn't get to Kuranda by cable car or train and only after the last descent, we had nature to ourselves - apart from the lovely Dutch woman and the South African who accompanied us to the falls.
