Vandring

The building was built in 1905 based on designs by Albert Erbe for the navigation school founded in 1749. The style is modeled on the Dutch Renaissance and the cartouches contain the names of navigators and explorers. The building is characteristic of the "harbor crown" above the landing bridges.

The Maritime Weather Office has been located here since 1946 and is part of the "Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency", based in Hamburg and Rostock. It replaces the naval observatory that was completely destroyed in the war.

Vandring

The brick building of the Navigation School in the Port of Hamburg was built between 1903 and 1905 according to plans by Albert Erbe. The facades of the building, designed in the Dutch Renaissance style, are decorated with cartouches commemorating geographers, explorers, and cartographers. The building is now used by the German Meteorological Service.
