The Giralda wonderfully sums up many centuries of history in its own physiognomy. The confluence of the different architectural styles that characterise it is a reflection of the cultures that inhabited Seville. The result, eclectic and unique, fascinates any traveller.

The first section of the Giralda is in the Almohad style. The architects Ibn Basso and Ali de Gomara were the architects of this minaret built for the city's great mosque. An earthquake in 1356 caused the four bronze spheres that crowned the tower to fall.

This name only refers to the church tower of the Cathedral of Seville. It is possible to climb the tower, but you do not climb stairs, but rather a ramp that winds around the core. In the past, during the time of Moorish rule over Seville, this was a minaret and the muezzin is said to have ridden up here on a donkey - according to the city tour.
