The Patio de las Doncellas is one of the architectural gems of the Royal Alcázar of Seville. This courtyard was the centre of the public space of the Palace of King Don Pedro I, built in the 14th century. Surrounded by a gallery of multi-lobed arches, one of the most characteristic decorative motifs of the Almohad dynasty, the courtyard is richly decorated with elements such as the shell (symbol of fertility and life), the hand of Fatima (synonymous with protection), and geometric compositions.

The arches of the inner courtyard are so beautifully preserved and expanded. Lots of attention to detail.
