The station was created with the construction of the Berlin - Hamburg railway line and was opened in 1864. With the construction of the routes to Parchim, Holthusen and Malliß, it became a traffic junction. The reception building, platform, decoy shed and water tower are listed buildings.

Vandring

Ludwigslust station was opened in 1846 with the construction of the Berlin–Hamburg railway line. Its entrance building, platform, engine shed and water tower are now listed buildings. The station can be entered from two sides.

There are currently construction measures around the station area, which are expected to be completed in 2024.
