The small fort Maisel is a Roman military camp on the western Taunus stretch of the Upper Germanic Limes, which is no longer perceptible on the surface and which was given the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. It is located in a forest just west of the Kröfteler Weg. Topographically, it is 455 m high.

In addition to a rest area, there is also an information board on site. The castle is now overgrown with trees, but the remains can be seen as site surveys. From the benches you have a beautiful view of glassworks, the glass head and the Great Feldberg.
