The Helm mill was already mentioned in the Chronicle of Polenz in 1589, at that time it belonged to the manor Oberpolenz der Bärensteiner. A keystone from back then still adorns the entrance to the barn today. In the 19th century the mill belonged to the Helm family, from which it takes its name.

The Helm-Mühle has been a hotel and restaurant since 1994 and is great for weddings, birthdays or company celebrations. Guest rooms and party barn offer an ideal ambience.

The four-sided courtyard complex of the Helm-Mühle offers a holiday home and a celebration barn that can be rented for family celebrations and groups. Only a few meters away are the preserved wooden buildings of the Polenz stop of the former narrow-gauge railway. The last miller at the Helm mill, Albert Helm, was also a part-time station master there in the 20th century.
