Day 5 - the home straight.

Planning the route we knew that Jade had a 6pm train from Staveley and the London crew had a 6 hour drive back to the big city. 28km, this was achievable especially with only 1 climb.

Once again, the Lakes proved that distance means nothing. Climbing High Street was a pure hike

Day 4. After a solid nights sleep, a relative lie-in and some fresh breakfast at the YHA we headed out to ride the trails along Skiddaw. A quick climb up, with some hike-a-bike along a sheer drop and we got to send it down into Threkeld and got a coffee at the Village Hall coffee shop, a must stop!

Day 3. There's a lot to say about day 3. This day was the hardest possible in the Lakes and we faced a lot of lows.

The day began with a leisurely climb out towards Eskdale and we enjoyed the descent down towards the legendary Hard Knott Pass. After lunch at the village shop we hit the ground running

Day 2 we packed up our campsite and left at a leisurely pace, which we regretted later!

Descending towards HillTop (Beatrix Potter's legendary house) we were faced with some blocked bridleways after a recent storm.

We grabbed an early lunch at the Esthwaite Trout Fishery Cafe, incredible for cyclists

Day 1 of our adventure, we set off from WheelBase in Staveley. With a relatively short first day we were able to have coffee and breakfast at More Bakery and head out on Brow Foot Lane. Day 1 was definitely an ease into the Lakeland 200 with rideable off-road climbs and gentle descents up to Ambleside
