Head out from Windermere station to the public transport ferry across the lake. You'll then take the Lakeside Path to Wray Castle with a nice climb up to High Wray thrown in.
Once you've grabbed a coffee at Wray Castle you'll meander through to Skelwith Bridge to stop for some snacks at Chesters.
