The Jakobsweg on the left bank of the Rhine goes from Bacharach to Bingen and from there to Worms. Actually, it is exactly the same way as the Rheinburgenweg. So if you don't find a Way of St. James sign, you can also follow the red R. The Jakobsweg on the left bank of the Rhine unfortunately disappointed me with the few or no longer existing pilgrim accommodations. In 2009 they started this Way of St. James again and tried to find pilgrim accommodation. Unfortunately we have the chicken and egg problem here. If there were more pilgrims, there might be more accommodations and with more accommodations there might be more pilgrims. However, I think most pilgrims will choose the route via Trier and Metz because it is simply more direct. We were only able to sleep three times in pilgrim accommodations in our nine days and otherwise had to resort to hotels. Unfortunately we also had a pilgrim accommodation that offered € 40 per room and without breakfast.
