At an altitude of 2000m above see level, two majestic lakes lie next to each other, in the shadow of even more majestic volcanoes. The perfect backdrop for probably the toughest stage of the Rwandan Epic, 3000 meters of elevation gain on a combination of technical single track and smooth gravel.

Straight through the Nyaburongo valley, we find our way back to the capital city of Kigali. Don't be fooled by the downhill and flat road on the stage profile though, you'll get your fair share of climbing to end the race, especially with the mythical Mount Kigali finish to top it all off.

Don't just say "rock garden", say "volcanic rock garden", because that's of a whole different level! In our opinion, the most amazing surface to ride on, but after 3 days of riding, this 80km stage (2.5 time the loop) will definitely make an impact!
