The Säben monastery and the beautiful chestnut trail from the direction of Chiusa await you on this hike. It starts right at the train station, once across the picturesque old town and finally up into the idyllic mountains.



After just a few kilometers you reach the monastery and can look around at leisure

If you want to do a longer tour from Klausen, then this hike to Latzfons is just right for you. For 15 kilometers it leads past the Säben monastery and further uphill to the small town of Verdings. You can enjoy an excellent panorama of the Dolomites and you can also stop off in several places.

What would a holiday in the Eisack Valley be without a hike on the Eisack itself? This hike takes you along the course of the river for a long stretch and is therefore completely flat along the bank. Then you turn right and get to higher ground. A short detour to the Schrambacher waterfalls is worthwhile

A fine alternative hike from Chiusa if you already know the monastery: This route leads to the Villanders cemetery, one of the most beautiful in South Tyrol, and over enchanted forest paths to the miners' chapel of St. Anna. Your hike begins at the Garner Wetterkreuz, a popular parking lot for setting out on various hikes in the surrounding mountains. Your path always leads you uphill to the Brugger Schupfe. With every meter up, your view gets a little bit better.

You start in Klausen and hike steeply uphill to the Fonteklaus residence, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Eisacktal. Now it's back down the mountain and you make a nice loop with a view over the small village of Gufidaun.
