Rund um den bebauten Kern Frankfurts verläuft der Frankfurter GrünGürtel. Der GrünGürtel umfasst etwa ein Drittel der Stadtfläche, rund 80 Quadratkilometer und wurde 1991 unter Schutz gestellt.
