Nationalpark Donau-Auen

The Mannswörth floodplains extend on both sides of the Schwechat estuary just east of the town of Mannswörth. There are two natural areas here. To the west of the Schwechat estuary, the Alberner Leitdamm runs through the area. Species-rich, special vegetation thrives in this artificially created, extremely

This six-kilometer hike takes you through the Maria Ellend-Haslau- Regelsbrunn National Park area. You hike from Haslau to Regelsbrunn, almost always with a view of the Danube, where there are several islands that create an exciting living space between the Danube and the town.

The Haslauer Augebiet is one of the core zones of the Donau-Auen National Park. Beavers, kingfishers and cormorants have their home here and there has been a passenger and bicycle ferry between Haslau and Orth for many years, which runs between the banks from April to October if necessary. The Petroneller Au is the youngest part of the Donau-Auen National Park. Since 2016, 260 hectares of this floodplain area have been under the control of the national park administration. However, settlements have been taking place in the Petronell-Carnuntum area for a very long time. The Romans already

In addition to the Keltenweg and Hutweidenweg, there is this third hiking trail that takes you through the legendary landscape around Braunsberg and Hainburg. With a length of a good four kilometers, the tour surrounds the Braunsberg nature reserve, largely outside the national park area.

On the Hutweidenweg you circle the striking Braunsberg for a good six kilometers. You follow in the footsteps of the former Hutweiden. There, the cattle of different farmers were herded together during the day, but then driven back to their respective owners in the evening. The forests on the slopes

Hainburg is one of the key points in the entire Danube. The river squeezes through the narrow area here, then flows slower and becomes wider. The rocky cliffs of the Braunsberg reach down into the current. The Danube circular hiking trail takes you through one of the most exciting rock formations right
