DBU Naturerbe

Deutschland trägt für seine vielfältigen Landschaften mit ihren Tier- und Pflanzenarten, seinem Nationalen Naturerbe, eine besondere Verantwortung. Um dieses Erbe zu bewahren, übergibt die Bundesregierung bis zu 156.000 Hektar national bedeutsame Flächen an die Länder, die DBU Naturerbe GmbH und Naturschutzverbände – eine einmalige Chance für den heimischen Naturschutz!

Die gemeinnützige Naturerbe-Tochter der Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), wird 71 großräumige Liegenschaften – rund 70.000 Hektar in zehn Bundesländern – langfristig für den Naturschutz sichern. Diese Naturerbeflächen, bei denen es sich überwiegend um ehemalige Militärübungsplätze handelt, werden der DBU Naturerbe GmbH dazu in den nächsten Jahren nach und nach übergeben.

Seit April 2009 ist die DBU-Tochter bereits für die Naturschutzmaßnahmen vor Ort verantwortlich und führt diese in Zusammenarbeit mit den ortskundigen Mitarbeitern der Bundesforst aus. Die Hauptziele der DBU Naturerbe GmbH sind die Förderung und der Erhalt des heimischen Reichtums an Tier- und Pflanzenarten in unterschiedlichen Lebensräumen. Zudem möchte sie ein nachhaltiges Naturbewusstsein in der Bevölkerung fördern.
