We had difficulty finding the way up to the pavilion and first ended up by chance at the Birkenfeld castle ruins. There isn't much left of it, but there is a nice view of the area. We were on a cliff, but we probably missed the "real" Westerklippe. Some nice views, but definitely not a highlight for me, not even the frog rock. What a pity.

Nice tour, the loop around the Sandberg is rather unspectacular apart from the ascent and descent. Otherwise there are many highlights, some (sometimes very) narrow passages, stairs again and again, it never gets boring. A flashlight was helpful in the Heringshöhle.
