An autumn day tour through the Venn (Veen) landscape of the western Münsterland and the Achterhoekes. In addition to the Vragender and Zwillbocker Venn, we also visited the Wooldse Veen with its long wooden walkways. The colorful autumn forest accompanied us with special mushrooms or a great rainbow.
The condition of the paths is mostly good, there are many sandy paths in the Netherlands.
      #Attractions:
      • House of Kretier
      • Kragemann Buffalo Farm
      • Railway viaduct over the Holtwicker Bach
      • Landgoed Kotman
      • Menkmolen and the Twee Brüggen swimming pool
      • Vragender Veen lookout tower
      • Zwilllbrocker Venn with its large expanses of water and the baroque church
      • Old, restored Panhoes barn
      • Sevinkmühle with restaurant and indoor playground
      • Winterswilk with many cafes by the church and Piet Modriaan sculptures and villa
      • Wooldse Veen
      # Refreshments:
In the first part of the tour there are few places to stop for refreshments, so you should make sure you have enough food. In Zwillbrock you have to pay attention to the opening times depending on the season.
On the last part of the route there is the Sevinkmühle and Winterswijk at Meddo Lake with various opportunities to rest.
You should also make time for Piet Mondriaan in Winterswijk

A tour with sights from a good mix of nature and culture. In addition to a lot of forest and meadow, there are the rivers Issel, Lippe and Rhine that characterize the tour. The Lippeauen in Wesel are a special highlight.Nearby is the Niederrhein Museum in the citadel in Wesel. You can get a good overview on the platform of the former railway bridge in Wesel. In the first half of the tour there is little, in the second half there are many places to stop for a break. Finally, you can visit the Kloppers brewery in Hamminkeln and fill up the lost liquid or end the tour with a good cup of coffee at Cafe Winkelmann.

      General:
A day tour of approx. 71 kilometers with many sights and refreshment stops for ambitious cyclists in our neighboring city of Wesel.
The goal is the Lippeauen behind Wesel.
On the day of the tour, the area could only be reached via busy roads and large construction sites, as the Lippe ferry Quertreiber had ceased operations due to the flooding. Please inform yourself before the start of the tour whether the ferry traffic is possible. There is an alternative route komoot.de/tour/431483819.
The tour by ferry is more interesting!
      Routing:
The tour goes largely on flat, well-developed roads. To avoid heavy car traffic (e.g. federal highway 8); the route in the area of the Diersfordt forest is partly sandy.
      Sightseeing features:
Observation station Dingdener Heide, Hamminkeln Dingden, to the shooting range
      Ringenberg Castle, Hamminkeln Ringenberg, Schlossstrasse
      Bärenschleuse, Wesel-Lackhausen, Wurmflakstrasse
      Lippe ferry Quertreiber, Wesel, RWE-Strasse
Rhine promenade Wesel with remains of the old railway bridge, good observation tower
Diersfordter Castle and Church, Wesel-Diersfordt, Rosenallee
Fruit press van Nahmen GmbH & Co. KG, Diersfordter Strasse 27, 46499 Hamminkeln
      Refreshments:
During the tour there are longer phases with no places to stop, for this reason sufficient food should be provided.
The Rhine promenade in Wesel invites you to linger with its beer gardens. In Hamminkeln and Dingden there are again more options available at the end of the tour.
The van Nahmen fruit press farm shop is always worth a visit.
