Today we didn't let the scorching sun stop us from doing a little lap near Gailingen (DE). It was quite a sweaty affair 🥵🥵 and a cooling off in the Rhine 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️ was firmly planned. Right at the beginning of the tour, my hiking fairy had the idea 🗯 to walk a small, inconspicuous path. This led us to a fabulous vantage point 👀 with a view of the Rhine and the beautiful town of Diessenhofen (CH). Then we went on through Gailingen, past the Jewish cemetery and along the panorama path towards Dörflingen (CH), a pretty, small village. From the "Buck" vantage point you have the Alps 🗻🗻🗻 at your feet when the visibility is good. We went on to Waldheim (CH) on the Rhine, where numerous people spent a leisurely bathing day. We then jumped into the water at Gailingen's lido, which was not only wonderfully refreshing but also populated with Weidlingen, rubber dinghies and stand-up paddles ⛵🚤🛥 🛶. A hike on the Upper Rhine is always a special experience 😍👌

There was already a lot going on on the Upper Rhine when we started at the parking lot 🅿️ of the Gailingen lido and in bright sunshine 🌞. We were looking for the wooden observation tower "Bürgli-Schloß", which "our grandpa" helped to build 23 years ago. The observation tower is easy to reach from the Schmieder clinics and rewards with a good view 👀 with a great alpine panorama - which we had to do without today 😔 Nevertheless, the view of the meandering Upper Rhine is exceptionally beautiful Meter There was that a few meters further on at the hiking car park next "snaking" spectacle: a grass snake 🐍 crossed the trail on the hunt for a common frog 🐸 With so many interested spectators the snake turned and the frog was able to escape 🤷‍♂️ Finally my girls took a dip 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️ in the Rhine, which currently still has a lot of water. There was a lot going on in the Gailinger Strandbad, as well as on the Swiss side in Diessenhofen, and numerous visitors zw enjoyed the informal, maskless togetherness 😍😁

My magical hiking fairy 😍 was inspired by Volker's tour "Albertinesteig" to go on a hike on the Schiener-Berg. We started from the museum station 🚂🚃🚃Moskau (district of Ramsen) and hiked over the Chroobachhütte to the Herrentisch, Mariatann and then back over Oberwald and Waldheim. It was interesting to walk along the path along the north ridge, because it also marks the border between DE & CH. In Germany 🇩🇪 it was a public holiday, in Switzerland 🇨🇭 it was a working day and wood was sawed in the forest ... The views over the Hegau with its volcanic cones 🌋 are wonderful. We were particularly impressed by the diversity of species and the splendor of colors in the flora 🌸🏵🌺🌼 This is also reflected in the selection of images 🤷‍♂️ We live only a few kilometers away from Ramsen and were nevertheless very surprised at how beautiful the landscape especially around the section "Oberwald" is 👌 Thank you 🙏, dear Volker, for kicking off this tour.

My wife had planned the hike with a dear friend who unfortunately had to cancel at short notice 😥 We started at the free parking lot in Unterstmatt in the best weather 🌞🌞🌞 The area around the Hornisgrinde has a completely different character than the southern peaks of the Black Forest 🗻🗻 It is characterized by the "Grinden" (wet heaths on the plateau, which were created by deforestation in the 19th century) with a manageable biodiversity. However, the western flank drops steeply to the Rhine plain and offers spectacular views 👀👀 towards France and the Vosges. Unfortunately, the enjoyment of the summit is clouded by the various large-scale technical facilities 😳 On the one hand, the unique high moor was turned into a nature reserve, on the other hand there is the 206 m high transmitter mast of the SWR and the 120 m high wind turbine. What a contrast ... We still had fun on the Hornisgrinde and on the descent we were able to take a leisurely break 🍺🍰 at the Ochsenstall, a ski and hiking hut.

The Klosterfelsenweg starts in Laiz near Sigmaringen. Since we already know the Inzigkofen Monastery, we have skipped this section. Today was super sunny weather and accordingly there was a lot of activity on the route. Sometimes we felt like we were waiting in line in the "Donäuropa" -Park to get to the attractions 🙈🙈 The further we got away from Inzigkofen, the quieter it got. The hike along the Danube was peppered with many spectacular sights, so that the popularity was understandable. The numerous, high & steeply sloping rocks are definitely worth a visit. So we especially enjoyed the second, more contemplative half and soaked up plenty of sun 🌞. Kind regards, Sandra & Alex 😁😁

After we hiked the Feldberg last year, my wife had planned a tour 🥾🥾 to the second highest Black Forest mountain 🗻. First of all: The Herzogenhorn is a unique, promising summit (1415 meters above sea level). We started at the Ankenbühl car park 🅿️ near the village of Weierle. The first part was along the Bernauer Hochtal Steig. Below the Spießhorn we strengthened ourselves with a nice vesper with a beautiful valley view 👀 before we covered the last stretch to the Herzogenhorn. The distant view was a bit milky, but you could see the entire Alpine chain 🗻🗻🗻. The 4000m peaks of the Bernese Alps were also recognizable. When the cloud cover tore up over us, we lay down on the picnic blanket 🛌 and enjoyed the mountain sun extensively. Then it was another 600 meters downhill and finally a few kilometers comfortably along the babbling Bernauer Alb 🏞 back to the starting point. A wonderful, somewhat more demanding hike 👌👌👌

My wife had the idea to run again in Klettgau (where I grew up) and had planned the hike to Küssaburg 🏰. In the end, everything turned out a little differently: We missed 🙈 a turn ↪, took a somewhat steep “shortcut” ⤴️ and as a result we walked the other way around than planned. But it didn't bother me and didn't detract from the good mood. The Küssaburg is a well-preserved, imposing castle ruin with a great view 👀. With a clear view of the distance, the Alps are within your grasp. On the way back there was some sporty climbing erein due to fallen trees. The hike ended at the Geißlingen rest area, where we could enjoy the day with sausages and grilled cheese. Part of the way ran along the Hochrhein-Höhenweg and also piqued our interest. We'll probably soon add it to our program 😉 LG Alex 🙋‍♂️

For my birthday 🎂🕯 I got a nice little hike 🥾 around the Wannenberg 🗻 as a present. First it went along the Nesselbach, which surpassed with meandering streams. The weather was sunny 🌞, accompanied by a strong wind 🌬 - just right for a Luftikus 😂 The waist-high grass was animated by the wind to make wonderful waves 🌊. The blaze of color in spring was impressive 🌸🌼🏵🌺, as were the insects 🐝🦗🦋 that were attracted to the scent of flowers. And the view W from the Wannenberg to the Alps was super beautiful. Highly recommended hike in the north-western part of Hegau 👌👌👌 LG Alex 🙋‍♂️

We started early to have some of the nice, dry weather 🌞 in the morning. Numerous hiking and leisure enthusiasts had this idea, so that the parking lot 🚙 near Markelfingen was already busy. Nevertheless, it was a very nice round and for me the Mindelsee was a first (what a scandal for a Hegauer 🙈🙈🙈). The area around the lake is quite humid and swampy. The flora is accordingly interesting and rich. We had a great start to the day 👍 and it was not the last time we were at Mindelsee ❤ Greetings, Alex 🙋‍♂️

Have you ever been out and about in your home country today? It's nice too 🤩, especially if you live where other people go on vacation (maybe not directly in Gottmadingen 😎).
