Currently, you must park near the 2 residences until corona virus bans lift parking restrictions inside of gate, administered by Coachella Preserve, thus adding more than a mile to the walk. Not bad on a pleasant day. Not any shade though. Very unpopulated. You can get far from civilization in no time.

There are other ways to access this oasis. Please see map...the 2 trails on the left converge on the oasis but can't be seen until you crest the hill. Therefore, taking the route shown, starting at Washington St., might interest you if you want minimal elevation gain and still be able to view your destination as you walk.
