Definitely the grand finale of this tour: Including a glimpse of Lake Bled, the magnificent Radnova valley, three countries and cycling on an old railroad track. This stage almost entirely follows cycle paths or solitary roads. The main climb in Radnova valley is quite steep with an 18% incline, but

Short day, but again beautiful scenery. The route follows mostly cycle paths and fairly quite roads. More traffic around Ljubljana and the closer we got to Bled.

We really enjoyed this stage because it follows the river banks of Sava and Savinja and consists of a pleasant up and down through picturesque landscapes. However, there was lots of traffic for the first 5 km into Celje. The D1 cycle path on the other river bank may be the better option here. After Celje

Short but sweet - this was a really nice stage with a flat start followed by some hills and again beautiful scenery.

This stage starts off with a steep 18% incline and several moderate climbs afterwards, but it rewards you beautiful views of the vineyards throughout the first 15 kms. After that, we opted for the less hilly main road into Ormoz, but you could include a small detour via Jeruzalem for some scenic roads

Long stage through remote areas with quiet roads but also limited options for water and food resupply, except from Nagykanizsa. Especially on hot summer days, we would recommend to use every opportunity and pack a lot of water. Not many camping options, either.

This stage follows part of the Balaton cycle path (EV 14) along the North shore. The road and cycling path condition varies, but it is well marked. Can get crowded with other cyclists in summer.

Beautiful ride through the vineyards, with moderate hills and little villages along the way. Getting out of Budapest was annoying and took quite some time due to traffic and construction works, but once we left the city, the stage follows the great cycle paths of the BUBA and EuroVelo 14.

One of our favorite stages! We arrived in Budapest on Hungary's National Day and several bridges were closed for traffic, so we had to enter into the city on the eastern side of the Danube. On a regular day, crossing the Danube in Vác and entering the city via the western side might be a better option

We had a late start due to some thunderstorms the night before, so we took a lunch break after 37 km already. The village Radvaň nad Dunajom offers a nice coffee place as well.
